Hi guys so an update I've managed to get everything hooked up in my case, except my harddrive which I will do at the last minute. I will get you some pics soon, its looking really nice. Anyway when I did a test boot it said CPU fan error. This is after I switched from intels stock fan to the hyper 212 evo. I didn't press F1 and go into bios or whatever but the fan is working and spinning. Just want to ask what to do when I do go into F1 that way I don't mess anything up.

In the newegg tutorial at 15:20 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxaVBsXEiok it listed drivers you need:
mobo:
-chipset
-lan
-usb
-audio
-video card

I've downloaded all of these so far, put them on a usb, is that all I need? On the asus website http://ca.asus.com/en/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/SABERTOOTH_Z77/#download
there are a bunch of things like BIOS, BIOS utilities, VGA, firmware, etc, do I need any of these?

Lastly, there is this black sata cable that reads ASAP on it and then these ones with a white trim that say SATA 6gb/s, which one would be better to use for my optical drive / harddrive?

Solution

Try lowering the CPU Fan Speed Low Limit until the error is gone.

If lowering does not help. Just set it to "Ignore".
Did you plugged on the right plug?

There is 2 types of plug on motherboard. One is Cha_Fan (Chassis Fan) and the other one is CPU_Fan.

I had same problem, because i plugged on the wrong one.

This is my motherboard:

Most motherboards have CPU Fan plug on the top of the board.

I got everything hooked up I'm typing from my new computer 😀 lowering the fan speed worked.
I'm missing two drivers:
PCI Simple Communications Controller
Universal Serial Bus (USC) Controller

can't find where to get them??
