I Built a new AMD based system yesterday,
but,..right from the very first boot,I am getting error
"CPU FAN ERROR"
By pressing F1,..Logged into bios to find that the CPU Fan is NOT even detected, showing it as "N/A",
even when the cpu fan is running well & connected to the correct Cpu Fan Header !!!
...irony is that when i connect the sameCPU Fan to the "Chasis Fan" headers of the same mobo, the bios detects the fan properly & shows the Rpm in which the fan is spinning !
well, this is my third pc built & have never experienced this issue before!
I am as such most clueless how to solve the problem?
Is this a hardware level failure on the new mobo/defective motherboard or any issue arising out of NOT having the latest BIOS for the mobo?
* I already contacted Asus Service centre/Digicomp over phone & they seemed clueless too,... whoever they insisted to bring my motherboard to the service center tomorrow to have a thorough look & do whatever they can to resolve my problem.
Anyway, in the bios i have already put my Cpu fan to "ignore" & also disabled the Q-fan setting for the CPU Fan which has temporarily resolved the crisis & can login to windows!
Now, do any one really know what is going wrong here & how best to troubleshoot this asap?
..should i go for a RMA of the mobo or it can be worked out in other ways?
Your experience & ideas will be my best guide.
My New config:
1)AMD FX8350
2)ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0
3)ASUS 7850 2GB DCU2 v2
4)CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600FSB RAM ( 4X2=8GB)
*BIOS for the said mobo is from American Megatrends(AMI BIOS) revision 1503! (latest is 1708)
5)Corsair VX550W PSU.
Please do Help !
