CPU Fan Ideas?

Im about to make another system:

Athlon xp 2800 barton
radeon 9700 pro
1gb GEiL Dual Channel DDR kit
80 Segate Baracuda SATA
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe rev 2

And was about the put the Volcano 11 in there but found out that they are quite noisy. Are there better ones I could be using or should just use this one and slap the fan control sensor on the cpu core and let it judge the speeds. Also I will OC the cpu so has anyone else out there been ocing these barton chips and with sucess. Would like to hear any sugestions as for settings. Thanks.

I installed a Volcano 11 on my machine and used the sensor that comes with it. I find that it is quite pleasant. If you are going to overclock then you must relize that silence may and always almost is compremized.

I just built my PC today (well bought all the components and they are on their way) and I chose this:

it has a good silent mode and a great normal mode. the HS mounts on the CPU like normal, but the fan is mounted to the screw portion where you put expansion cards and that puts it close to where the case I got has an intake fan hole (if not right where it is). It also allows me to keep airflowing because I can put an exhaust fan in the normal spot and draw away the hot air as it is blow off the HS. in silent mode the fan moves something like 20cfm and in normal it moves 35cfm. Not to bad at all. I am going to try and make a 80MM to 92MM fan air funnel thing that mounts on the hole in the side of the case and puts air directly from outside the case into the CPU fan, ought to be a fun thing to design.

To have a good cooler. powerful and noiseless, you sould go to Thermalright slk 800 or, to have a cheaper solution, to Cooler Master HAVC81XDream. The thermalright cooler can be equipped with a 8 cm very silent fan, having a very good cooling effect.
I use it for a XP 2700+ @ 2432 MHz and 1.75 Volt for the Vcore. The room temperature (case internal) is about 28 °C and the CPU goes from 38 °C (no load) to 45 °C (full load) and 40÷41 °C with office applications.
The noise is really very low and sometimes covered by HDD or by the case fan (very quiet). In this condition I disabled the fan speed control of my mobo (A7N8X) because it doesn't cause an audible difference.

The Flower cooler look ok, but it said that it only officially goes up to the athlon xp 2600+. I need a good one for the 2800+ barton that keeps it cool and not a noise bomb.

I love my volcano 11. It comes with a speed control knob that goes on a PCI slot. I modded it a little bit and moved it to the front of my case and it rocks. I turn it up so you can barely hear it over my case fans (30% max speed) and my CPU never breaks 45C.

Oh, and I run a 2500+ @ 2800+.

My computer is the leading cause of global warming.
