cpu fan intake or exhaust ?

hi i have a thermaltake nic F3 cpu cooler and since i got an amd motherboard its fan had to face downwards towards the GPU so i dont know which is the right thing making it exhaust so it takes air from cpu or intake so it takes air to the cpu ?

yeah i know but it could'nt be fixed like that because i use amd mobo so the socket is to high for it to be fixed like that making the heat sink interfere with the case upper bracket so it cant be fixed,i got thermaltake ms-ii commander case

u mean to take the air from the case to the heat sink or vice versa ?

If all you are using is a fan for cooling your cpu then it should be set up on the 'exhaust' side, meaning it is pulling the heated air away from the cpu (blowing away). This setup will also help keep dust from collecting as fast around your heat-sink. I use this setup on all my fan-cooled pc's. Cools much better and is cleaner.

well i am using another setup that i find quite satisfying,intake side pannel and intake cpu fan so the exhaust should be to the top pannel and rear pannel
