Cpu fan upgrade

Im looking to upgrade my cpu to a quad core in my Dell Optiplex 780 sff and i am not sure if ill need to upgrade the fan or will the stock cooler would work but im not sure what cooler will fit if i need one.

If you change the CPU you need to change the Fan

Most likely you can't replace that cooler and fit another one in the case. You can upgrade the cpu to anything that came in it OEM. The heatsink can stay but replace the thermal paste.

You can't change the heatsink, like I mentioned above. It should be sufficient for faster cpus as Dell had i7s in that form factor.

So i wont need to upgrade it to intstall the core 2 quad?
