So ive made a mistake in building my pc...specs below

AMD 5400k@4.5ghz (Hyper 101)
7770 @1125mhz 5000mhz ram
ASrock a75pro4-m
160GB HD
Crappy case with no cable managment (has a 250mm fan to the side tho 😀)
4GB 1866mhz ram
no dvd drive

I made this as a budget/starter into pc gaming and lemme tell you now that ive got my ---- wet i wanna go all in, i don't like the fact that i cant have aa and x4+ or any post ffx...so im looking to start a new build for one that will keep with the consoles for the next 5-7 years. I know the specs on the ps4 call for the 8 core amd but im conflicted to intel extreme prices for extreme power or amd more is more motto.

Budget is around $200 for the proccesor (No more)
Im looking for best bang for buck (Cough cough amd)
And long runner (Cough Intel cough Cough)

Ill prolly be start saving this christmas and working thru the summer till i completely get a water cooled rig, i.e. cpu, gpu...maybe something else

Which will get me the most performance Overclocked for the next 5-7 years

Rules: no fanboys, don't say intels better, please give reasons

Don't insult ones intelligence because they don't think like that

Im not here to start a war, just to get the most for my money.

Im willing to spend a priemium if its worth it (But at $200 thats a priemium for me)

You made a mistake by expecting to run high end GPU features with an entry level GPU... The 7770 is not a real "gaming" card. Try slapping a 760, 7870 LE or 7950 in there and I am sure you will feel much differently about your system.

yeah just swap the gpu for now, the cpu can stay since its still decent and in order to upgrade (at least to make it worth it) you need a new mobo. oh and maybe change cases if you want. later on you might need to upgrade the cpu but $200 will only cover a gpu for now and thats the thing that needs changing most.

Yeah i don't wanna do that because i just bought these last month, im sure they will tie me over till christmas, and summer but i want to build a great machine, im looking for amd 8--- series or a 7970 next summer, I would just like to limit it to cpu over the long run please

Somewhere in the $1000 range...I dunno if thats enough to keep games at high settings for the next 5-7 years tho

As for cpus would you go with amd, ive notice that the 8350 is comparable to the 3770k by only 500pts...
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+FX-8350+Eight-Core&id=1780

And thats at stock, i have plans for a custom water loop eventually too

This is what i was thinking...I know the case is expensive and only matx but i want sort of a mobile platform, But like a said im willing to pay a priemium if it last the extra year or so... But would you go with the amd side?

BTW forget the cpu...i just added that for no reason lol

Yeah rams ram really but for the price of the one i posted 2133mhz is a really good deal plus no motherboard you have chosen and that power supply is overkill look for 850w will do crossfire 7970's and yes amd is good the 8350 is a strong performer and is a good overclocker aswell that case is fine i was only giving you example what ever tickles your fancy just make sure to read reviews and you should be fine on what you choose for your setup i try and keep the same brands when doing a setup to keep it nice and neat looking MSI FTW! lols

Okay, thanks, ill go with the 8350, im still in the air about other componets...personally im in love with asus...ill find stuff from them, thanks for the help with the cpu!
