hi i have motherboard (IPIBL-LB) from hp pc. now the fan on the heat sink broke off and also little screw clips that hold the heat sink to board. so i was looking around for replacement and pc store in my area has this CNPS2X Mini-ITX CPU Cooler. now it compatible with lga775 sockets and the cpu is Core 2 Quad Q6600 i wondering if the cpu give off more heats for the heat sink to handle since it not mini-atx board or dose it matter?

Solution
Most default cpu coolers are very similar and have very little difference in thermal reduction. I took a look at your mobo and I think you should have ample space for mounting that cpu cooler and it should work as well or better than your old one. Your concern about it being for a mini-ITX shouldn't be a problem. It just means you will have more space for your cpu cooler to reduce heat versus a mini ITX case.

Yes it will work fine. You need aftermarket cpu coolers and thermal paste when OC'ing. If you don't do this you will run into hardware breaking thermals.
