CPU i7-5820k: BOX vs. TRAY vs. WOF??

Hey. So I'm about to order i7 5820 from a german website but I'm a bit confused about different "versions". One is sold as TRAY, one BOX and the 3rd one is sold as WOF (all having the same price). Can someone explain to me what is the main difference? I've heard Tray is without cooler and with 1 year warranty, but since I'm planning to install noctua DH15 anyway, I can as well get WOF or BOX version and install Noctua Dh15 anyway, correct?

Tray and WOF (With Out Fan) are essentially the same things from the quick bits that I had found. (Though WOF is in a box and Tray's usually aren't, though still packaged well.)

Having a spare CPU heat sink may not be a bad thing, so for the same price, I'd get the Box over the Tray or WOF.

The CPUs themselves are exactly the same.

The processors are all identical. Box is the full retail version, fan and warranty. Tray lacks a fan and has a shortened, 1 year, warranty, and WOF (to my knowledge) has no fan but a normal warranty.

Yeah that's what I thought. But the prices being the same for all seem very illogical to me, because I'd rather buy BOX version then and get that extra heatsink (in case I need it sometime) plus normal warranty. I felt like I should ask and be 100% sure, before ordering anything. You know, better safe than sorry

Yeah not quite sure why they are all the same price, someone isnt doing their job lol.
Id take the retail, keep the stock cooler on a shelf (I have a few AMD and Intel stock coolers laying around, its good to have)

All Intel Extreme processors (that includes the i7-5820K) are sold without a fan. SO I'd hazard a guess that the WOF is essentially the same as the boxed version. The Tray version is usually sold in bulk to manufacturers/builders with higher volumes.

Those come on the market when they're sold piecemeal. They are usually a tad cheaper but may have been handled and I'd prefer not to buy one for the small difference in price between a boxed and the tray version.

Note that you should really make sure that whatever cooler you buy supports the 2011-3 socker for that processor. There is an asterisk for the 2011-3 support on the CM website, saying that it may not have the necessary accessories in all countries.
