My setup: MIS X370 Gaming pro carbon, Ryzen 7 1700, 2x4gb Adata XPG 2400mhz, RX 580, 700 watt bronze power supply. So basically when I occupy ram slot A1 or B1 (Or both) the cpu & memory LED light up and I don't get any video, but all the fans spin up and stuff and the other slots work fine.
The mobo manual says "In order to successfully boot up your computer, we strongly recommend installing the memory modules as shown below." They recommend A2 and B2, so would you have to have 4 sticks in order for slots A1 & B1 to work? It wouldn't make sense to me. I bought these parts off of ebay so there's a chance 1 or more part(s) could be broken.

Solution
Could be. Some boards are particular about ram population. Sometimes half of the ram is "System reserved" if you do it in a way the board doesn't like.
If it works dont worry about it.
So the manual says to use A2 and B2 and when you follow the manual it works fine right ?
Instead you want to do the opposite and it does not work, if you only have 2 DIMM's just follow the manual since that works ?
I could see if you had a 32gb kit with 4 DIMMs and it did not work I would be irritated also.
Last question I dont have time to go look but is your memory on the compatibility list for that motherboard ?

When I use slots A2/B2 or both it works just fine. I'm going to sell this computer eventually and I don't want to sell someone a partially broken item. I don't see my memory on the compatibility list for my motherboard, so could that be the issue?
