I have a ECS MCP61M-M3 motherboard i was wondering will it support the intel i5 4460 processor?

No, Sir.
That's an AMD cpu motherboard. You will need a new motherboard that supports 1150 socket. You can get some cheap budget ones

Also just a suggestion - in continuation of the above post:

Another viable option would be to upgrade to a cheap Phenom II 955, and later down the line upgrade your motherboard to a 990fx chipset allowing future options for expansion to the AMD FX series.

However, with Zen coming out soon, may not be the best choice, but if you have a limited budget it is certainly a viable option.
