Haya,

Removed ram and put in my sons pc to see if it’s boot ( to rule off if his ram is dead ) once I put it back into mine the mother board isjust flashing between cpu and dram ( guessing cpu light only flash’s when it restarts the boot cycle ? ), pc just continuously try’s to boot, , I have tried the following

Removed the motherboard battery
Tried each ram in every slot etc,
Checked all cables to make sure I didn’t accidentally bump anything
Reseated the cpu ( and checked the pins , also replaced the paste )
Swore at the computer 😂😂

Any help would be appreciated

What was the story with your son's pc, is there any chance it damaged your ram?

All I can suggest is clearing the CMOS. To do this unplug your pc and remove the battery, if it has a "clear CMOS" button, press it. If it has jumpers (2 pins) labeled "clr cmos" use a metal object to short them together. If it has neither, or you can't find it, simply leave the battery out for 15 minutes (some also suggest press and hold the power button for a few seconds).

Put the battery back in and the BIOS should be reset to default settings, this should give it the best chance to start up. If it does boot up, you will need to enter BIOS to enable XMP and set any custom fan curves etc.

Hay mate cheers for the reply, my mate gave me his old pc as he had upgraded his, pc specs were

Intel 7700
1080
X2 4gb ram
And a z170 mb

Had set it all up and it’d crash During boot up, swapped my ram into his and it’d still crash so checked the pins on his mb and it looked like there were some bent pins so I put my ram back into mine ( this was a few weeks ago my pc was fine after the ram was put back in ) and ordered a new motherboard for his pc. It arrived on Friday so I tried booting up with the new motherboard ( Msi z270 ). But it’d still not boot, my ram will boot in his pc if I only have one stick in - n his pc
