Ive had my cpu overclocked for awhile now and ive started my computer and gotten random freezes and ive finally started to do some research and could it be that since my motherboard preset of overclocking for my cpu is what i used and maybe the setting aren't exactly the best and not best voltage settings and causes a random freeze sometimes. I have a 1000w evga supernova g2. The cpu is set to 4.5ghz oc and the preset oc at 4.6 crashes usally so ive left ot at 4.5 without issue besides random freezes fixed by a hard restart. My motherboard is a gigabyte z170x gaming 7.

Solution
unstable oc. Manually oc the system would be the best way to go. Often with presets, they can overvolt too.

Start of by taking the OC off, and making sure the problem isn't related to something else. Then get a guide for your CPU/Mobo combo, and manually oc. You'll get better results and a more stable system.
