Question CPU Overheating while playing Metro 2033 Redux

Hi everyone,

Recently I started playing Metro 2033 Redux and the cpu overheats causing the computer to shut down, anyone have this problem with this game?

I ran a stress test with 100% usage for 15min and the temp didn't go above 64ºC / 147F so I don't know what can I do to solve this

Spec:

Ryzen 5 2400g with Msi Core Frozr L

Do you have adequate airflow through your case. If you case can't get rid of the heat generated by the CPU and GPU, then the heat will build up and could lead to overheating. What is the temperature while playing/.

Are you using the integrated graphics or on a separate GPU ?

Try taking your PC's side panel off and pointing a fan into it and see if the problem continues. If it runs ok with the case open and a fan on it you have a case cooling issue...

If it still crashes you have something else going on...might need to re-seat your CPU cooler.

I have a separate GPU , RX Vega 56 and changed the thermal paste yesterday.

What I don't understand is why it didn't shutdown at the stress test but ingame it does...

My normal temp is between 60ºC and 70ºC , but with this game it goes to almost 90ºC and then shutdown

Different stress tests may load the cpu differently...for instance not all of them use AVX. You could try looping Cinebench R20 if you have it. Are you on the stock cooler ?

Nope I have Msi Core Frozr L
I tried stress test with Aida64

I tested the game without the front cover and the max it goes is 72ºc, so far so good no crashes

Are you sure it is the cpu causing crashes? Could it be a ram or driver error instead?

It happens when the the cpu temp rises, that's all I know
