Hello

Specs:
ASUS ROG Strix Z270F Gaming
Intel Core i7-6700K
EVGA CLC 120

My CPU worked fine, then i updated my BIOS and now my CPU temp spikes up to 80c and down again in a second. But the fan goes up to 100% and down to 30% again when the temp goes down.

Any idea why this is happening? I have tried to format my PC. I have set the Qfan control to be at 30% fan speed until it hits 75c which is max temp i can set in Qfan control. But it goes to 80c :/

Solution
It may be due to many causes (thermal paste, Cooler not installed properly, BIOS bug and so on).
I would tell you to check the first 2 options and, if everything is ok then try to re-install the BIOS

Its happening after i play a CPU intensive game. After closing the game, then opening chrome or anything, fan goes to 100% and up to 85c and down again in just a second.

This has happend before aswell before i updated my BIOS. But its after setting the q fan control again it started to act weird again.

And how do i re-install BIOS? I have set it to default settings

What was your reasoning for updating the BIOS? Is there any reason you can't roll back to the previous BIOS? Short of a security fix or major bug fix, I don't think there is a lot of reason to update the BIOS on a system that is working.

I heard from a person that i work with that i should update my BIOS because something like security on CPU or something like that. Not sure what he meant.

How do i roll back to previous BIOS version?

I have now rolled back to previous BIOS version (1009) the one that i used before. But its happening here aswell. Spiking up to ca 85c so my fans spins at 100%. Then the temp falls down to 40c again.

Ok, it would be worth a try to set all the fans to "Full On" just to see if it's a cooling problem. If the problem persists with max fan speed too you should consider checking the CPU cooler.
