[SOLVED] CPU Package Temp Spikes

I just built my first gaming PC this weekend. I've been monitoring the temps the last few days. I also set up an iCUE profile to turn the lights orange/red when things get hot. Anyways, I'm noticing that I'm getting spikes in temp when I'm doing small things like opening programs, or browsing through pages (on this site for example). The temps are spiking up to around 60-70c, but only momentarily, then right back down to around 32-34c where it idles.

My question is, is this normal or is it possible I did something wrong during assembly/setup or do I maybe have a faulty piece of hardware?

That's normal behavior. Every little thing you do is going to cause little spikes. Even the OS's background activity does it.

Thank you. Just a little concerning seeing those lights changing colors when I'm not really doing anything. It does run cool when I'm gaming though so I was thinking it might be something that just happens. Thanks for you reply!
