I have a i-7 9700k overclocked to 4,7 GHz. It has been running fine at this speed for months well below 70c max temps. Recently when I try to play graphically demanding games my CPU clock drops to 800 Mhz due to power limit throttling. My thermals are well in the range around 50c, and my VRMs are well under max temp. This just appeared out of nowhere and I cant find the cause.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

GPU?

Also include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition.

The PSU may be nearing its designed EOL (End of LIfe) or just starting to falter because of heavy gaming use at high power levels.
