I have the ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, i7 920, 6 gb tri channel ocz gold ddr3 1600. For whatever reason, in the motherboard bios it is only saying 4 gb of memory is available. I have tried two of these motherboards and I keep getting the same results. I have tested each stick of memory in each slot, and the memory is not the problem. It is even on the supported memory list on the ASUS site. The problem seems to be the B slot the memory is in on the motherboard. It's is not reading the memory. Again I have tried two of these motherboards with the same results. I have checked for bent pins on both boards and that is not the case with either of them. Is it possible it is the CPU I am having a problem with, or have I just received two boards with the exact same problem?

Thank you.

Did you install the RAM following the manual? You might have to put them in the SPECIFIC positions.

For example, I have to insert my RAM in 1st and 3rd slots to enable dual channel on Gigabyte P55A-UD5 m/b.

Try to insert them into the 1st, 3rd and 5th slots to see if it works

Yes, that's what I meant. The 1st(#1) and 3rd(#3) slots are the 2nd and 4th counting from the left. Odd numbering on Gigabyte m/b.....

That is how I had them. I had the memory in the A1, B1, and C1 slots which are 2nd, 4th, and 6th, and are the orange ones. Well I was only getting 4 gigs out of that. I put the stick I had in B1 in slot A2 and got all six gigs, but running in dual channel and not triple channel. Turns out the B slots weren't working. In searching the ASUS forums I found a possible solution, tried it, and it worked. So what was the problem you ask? I had the heatsink screwed down too tight. I loosened up the support bracket on the back of the motherboard and just hand tightened it (and that is just fine as I am having no heat issues even running prime 95). Put the memory stick back in B1, booted it up, and now have 6 gigs running in triple channel. I know it sounds asinine, but it's the truth.

Thanks for the responses guys. I appreciate it.

There are many peoples with P6T Deluxe v2 + V8 combo and you seems to be the only and first one to have this problem.

I suggest that you RMA the MB as it could be due to bad RAM slot connection with the MB.

No need... the problem has been solved. I had the heatsink tightened down too much. Loosened it up, just hand tightened it, and now all six gigs work in triple channel, B slots work, no problems with the board.

Had exactly the same problem, RAM in channel B not recognized - your suggestion solved the problem! Incredible, thanks very very much!
