CPU problem?

My friend just bought a brand new c3d e6400 with an asus p5n32 sli pro mobo. he bought a case afterwards, transferred the system into the new case then took it to a lan party.
When he got there, the computer didn't work. He could turn it on, but nothing showed up on the screen. The keyboard lights didn't light up either.
Just wondering if this is a sympton of a cpu problem, and what might cause it. For your interest, he has had that problem before and we found out his cpu from the other system didn't work properly (a p4, we tried it on the new motherboard).

If you have tried a different CPU on the same motherboard with no luck it's probably not a CPU problem. Either a Dud Motherboard or a PSU problem seems likely.
