CPU Question

Am just curious to know if I have my cpu set up right in BIOS. I have a Athlon T-bird 1000 and a A7V mobo. Plus 133mhz ram. Does anyone else have a similar setup?
Right now I have the Cpu frequency at 100 and the dram frequency at 133. Also my cpu is running a little on the hot side at 115 degrees farenheight. Is that normal? Any info on this will be apprieciated.

Here are my system specs:
Athlon T-bird 1000
A7V mobo
256 megs of 133 ram
300 watt powersupply

Ooops!!!! although i don't (not yet anyway, hehehe) own an Athlon. 110+ degrees???? way too hot. you should check the fan heat sink if it was installed properly. Otherwise your CPU will go bye-bye...

If its so. did you spread the silicon compound properly under the heatsink? this compound closes the gap between CPU and heat sink for effective heat transfer.

If you perfected both. Chances are your HS/Fan is not capable. Better replace it witha new HS/Fan. I heard FKP38 of Globalwin is a good HS/Fan for most overclockers. Look for other suggestion.

OR your casing may not be well ventilated. Just by touching it you should feel the heat inside. if its too hot it might be the exhaust on your PS if failing you. have it checked and (maybe) Replaced. Or get a secondary ventillation.

ment: 115F is only 46C and you can't complain about that.

Nuke1096: Yes cpu@100 and DRAM@133 are the correct settings and 46C (115F) should be fine for the temp.

Also: If you get a GlobalWin FOP-38 be sure to buy some earplugs as well.

Mine says 80C, and I can smell something burning inside the case. Is that bad?

j/k ;-)
