CPU question

I just installed SiSoft's Sandra software on my system, and I noticed it says I have a second processor which it calls "Co-Processor (FPU) Built In -- Yes". It has seperate temperature readings, seperate voltage readings, etc from the main PII processor. I'm assuming this is part of the motherboard, as I'm running a single PII. However, I've never heard of this feature on a computer. Can anyone elaborate on this?

I'm currently not on a PC that has Sandra, so I don't know specifically where you're looking.

However, every Intel processor since the 486 (except for the dratted SX models) has a built in math coprocessor (FPU=Floating Point Unit) that that does certain kinds of "floating point" math.
