Please keep it to 1 thread.
Hello. New here

I bought my PC new in february 2022 and a couple months later when switching off the PC, and turning it back on it would display red light, and since then I have to switch off and on the PSU I/O button about 200 times to get an orange light then white and boot, pc works great after it boots up.

A friend of mine suggested I should switch the Power Supply, which I did, I now have a bequiet 800 watts recent one. The issue was is still going since.

I reset the bios and updated it to the most recent one.

I checked and switched the ram sticks, replaced by other ram, didn't work either.

I checked the cpu fan
I reseated the cpu a couple times

I am really losing my mind right now, please help me figure it out

I don't know if it's worth mentionning, but when the pc is booted, if I restart the PC via windows, it actually restarts without trouble, it's just when the power is completely off and turns on again that this issue happens.

My config:

MSI z590 tomahawk wifi
I7 11700k
gainward Rtx 3070
32 gb (4x8 kingston fury 3600mhz)
Cpu fan bequiet dark rock 4
Psu bequiet 800 watts forgot the exact model but brand new

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Can you mention the BIOS version for your motherboard? As for your platform, try and remove 2 of your ram sticks from A1 and B1 and see if the CPU LED extinguishes. As for your cooling, try and relieve some stress from the mounting on the cooler. See if that helps. I'd also go so for as seeing if there are any bent or broken pins on the CPU socket.

What was the make and model of the older PSU? Be Quiet! is the brand of the PSU while 800W is the advertised wattage of the unit, What is the model of the unit?

There have been instances where people say latest only to learn that there's a BIOS update pending. If you don't want to bother with info that will help with troubleshooting, how are we supposed to assist you?

At this stage I would breadboard the system outside the case with the absolute minimum components connected - cpu and cooler, 1 ram stick, no dedicated Gpu. If you can get the system to post then it is a process of adding back in components 1 at a time to try and find the culprit.

You mentioned that you have removed and replaced the cpu multiple times. Have you checked the socket to ensure their are no bent pins?

This motherboard?

https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/MAGZ590TOMAHAWKWIFI_MAGZ590TORPEDO.pdf

[Do verify that I found the applicable User Guide/Manual.]

Even though there is a red CPU LED there could be something else amiss.

For example - some motherboards require that the first physically installed RAM be placed in a specfic slot.

From the linked manual:

"Always insert memory modules in the DIMMA2 slot first." (Reference physically numbered Page 34, Overview of Components.)

In any case, work through the User Guide/Manual to double check all connections and related configuration settings.

Ensure that all connections, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

How do you go about shutting down the pc?

And then, turn the PC on again?

Procedure(s)?

First off, when all power is out, i need to press power button to a red light, after that I need to spam the psu switch on off until anywhere between 1-200 pc restarts, once in a 1 to 200 restarts, the orange dram light turns on and seconds later the pc boots up to a white light. Then I leave pc on for 30 days cus i scared to deal with this again. When a restart rly needed I restart thru windows and it works white light and boots

Hello,

I made a post yesterday about my CPU red light I was facing on my Z590 tomahawk wifi

I just tested my pc on the Z490 motherboard and now there is a white CPU light stuck on it

The Z490 is brand new , just received from amazon.

I have heard it's very rare that my CPU would be dead from some friends.

What should I do?

Bios is up to date on both motherboards

CPU: I7 11700k
RAM: 32gb ddr4 3600mhz (4x8 kingston fury)
PSU: BeQuiet 12M pure power (brand new, thought would fix the issue)
MB(s) Z590 Tomahawk Wifi, Z490 Gaming Plus
Cpu Fan BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 (Plugged under CPU_Fan1)
