I have a thread in the Cooling forum but now want to get some good advice on a new case. My computer is running hot (80 degrees-ish in Borderlands 3) so I want to try to fix that with a new case. Also, my Cryorig R1 Ultimate may be part of the issue as it's so big blocking airflow. My specs are shown below. So I'm thinking if I could get a case that can handle that 170mm tall cooler and have good air flow and lots of fans, it might help.

Can you provide a good case recommendation? I'd prefer to be less than 11.5" wide if possible but I have some flexibility there. I'm not as concerned about cost but I don't need to spend money unnecessarily. I'm not overclocked at the moment but might do that eventually. I'd be willing to try a new cooler or liquid cooling too perhaps but that's more $ and I've not done it before, so focusing primarily on the case and airflow now. I don't care at all about bling . Thank you for your help.

Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($399.99 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - R1 Ultimate 76.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($88.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($207.65 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($141.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($233.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital - BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($116.39 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB SC Black Edition Video Card ($749.99 @ B&H)
Case: NZXT - Phantom 410 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair - RMx 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.89 @ Amazon)

I only have stock fans right now but the Cryorig R1 Ultimate only fits vertically in it and it's super tight doing that (overhangs RAM a bit). I'd rather have a new case with better air flow and more room for my cooler if possible. I could switch the cooler and go with fans possibly but I think it's just too tight overall.

Any suggestions here? Hoping for a case that can fit a 170mm cooler and has lots of fans (less than 11.5" wide). Ideally with most fans already installed so I don't mess it up.

Do you think this one will lower my temps:

That case might help, but overall a good liquid cooler may be your best option. The other thing you could do is take the cover off the case and blow a boxfan into it. It's not pretty, but it worked for me on one computer I had in the past that just wouldn't stop overheating.

Ok, had two 120mm fans lying around so I installed them to try to help for now.

A couple questions:
  1. is it ok to install a 120mm on the top of the case even though the other one there is 140mm I think? FYI - 2nd fan I installed on the front of the case was an intake fan and its counterpart stock fan was also 120mm, so all good there I think.
  2. The fan connectors have 3 pin holes and I could not figure out exactly where to connect them to give them power. I connected one fan to the Cha_fan on the motherboard which has 4 pins (i.e., using 3 of them) and the other fan to a connector from the PSU which has two pins (and a blank space so it fits just fine). Is that ok?
This is my short term solution until my shorter RAM comes in. At that point I'll evaluate whether I switch coolers or cases. Both newly installed fans look like they're working fine. Thanks again.

Nevermind on the fan questions. Have both new fans plugged into the motherboard, both 3 hole fans plugged into the 4-pin connectors on the mobo but I read that's ok.
