[SOLVED] CPU sometimes not detected on MSI b450m M2 V2?

Hi,
First of all, system configuration:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
MB MSI b450m M2 V2
Ram Corsair vengeance 8x2
Galax gtx 1660
PSU Cooler Master 550w 80plus
500gb m.2 for boot
2tb HDD for storage

The problem is, my CPU is not getting detected most of the time. Sometimes it detects the CPU but not every time. Once in half an hour or more, my system detects CPU. For rest of the time ez debug led for CPU stays lit. If the system detects the CPU it works like a normal pc. But if it is shutdown or restarted, it takes at least half an hour to detect the CPU again. I have no idea what is happening. I did updated bios for Ryzen 3rd gen CPUs.

Hope to see some help from community.
Thanks in advance.

Solution
No, it doesn't restart without any issue. It happen every time when I have to post. Every start or restart has this issue.

Are you suggesting that this issue is related to PSU?
With that...yes. I think PSU could easily be the cause. I had something similar with my 1700 when I moved an RX480 into the case with an older PSU.

But proving it could be difficult without a known-good to swap in. If you can buy one from a local retailer with a liberal "no questions" return policy you could try it out, if it fixes the problem great. If not, return it neatly boxed with packaging intact (as possible) for refund. Microcenter, in my area, is a great place to shop for that reason.

When you shut down before turning it back on try flipping the switch in back of the PSU then toggling the power button to drain all capacitors first. If your PSU doesn't have a switch, unplug it.

I have a similar issue that my system won't start right up after a shutdown unless I turn off the PSU and toggle the power button. I'm guessing it has something to do with standby voltage but I've just lived with it.

I have a 3700X on MSI B450m Mortar with Corsair 650W PSU.

I have tried it. This is the only way it works. But it takes sometimes half an hour to 10 hours. Though I would like to mention that in last 48 hours I got post only twice.
Thanks for your response. I too think it has to do something with caps current or something onboard voltage kind of issue.

Does yours go through a restart without any problem?

It could also be your PSU, btw. At startup the 12V may be sagging, sometimes a little more than other times, but when it's warm always more than when cold. Swapping it out with a known-good could help eliminate that.

One other thing to try is to put a super-old PCIe GPU in, or one lacking a supplemental +12V connectors at any rate. It might draw low enough current to not pull down the +12V at startup.

I have a spare 450w PSU known-working condition. I will try it and reply you in this thread. Thanks for the help though.
