SPECS:
I looked in the event viewer to see if I could diagnose the reason behind the blue screening, the two critical errors present were the following:
So from here, I entered the BIOS to which I saw my CPU Fan speed at "0 RPM" yet my fan was physically spinning. (NOTE: My CPU fan slot on the MB is 4 pins however the cable for the CPU fan only has 3 pins, I've read online that the 4th pin would be used to read fan speeds so maybe this is why the "0 RPM" value shows up.)
So the next fix I tried as seen online was to change the fan slot which I was using in case it was faulty, so I plugged the CPU fan cable into SYS_FAN2.
The only difference this made was now the "RPM" was showing. But the CPU temperature issue was not fixed.
Currently idling or light-workload (Web browsing etc) - CPU temperature sits at around 40-60c
High workload (Gaming) - CPU temperature steadily rises and eventually sits at around 95-100c
Another point worth noting is that my CPU temperature remains at around 90c even after exiting the game, the longest I've left it is around 45mins after exiting the game before shutting down because it doesn't feel safe having my CPU at such a high temperature.
The next fixes I am thinking about doing are:
Replacing Thermal Paste AND/OR replacing the cooler.
Sorry for the long post and any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.
