[SOLVED] Cpu upgrade on T5500

So Im upgrading my cpu from E5530 to X5690 and I was wondering if there was any other information such as if I need to back up or reinstall windows and such. im pretty bad with computers so any information would be nice

Why? Just for the hell of it?

No windows usually does not need to be reinstalled if you are only swapping the cpu and not the motherboard as well. That CPU consumes quite a bit more power than the E5530 so make sure your power supply can cope. Those CPU's are the same socket so the swap should work, however your motherboard's BIOS also needs to support the X5690 if it doesn't the system wont boot.
