Looking to get six cores which is compatible with my current motherboard etc. My current CPU is a AMD Athlon X4 950 3.5GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Quad Core Processor and it cannot handle BF1 & 5 which I want to play. I have the following...

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB

Stock Cooler

8GB Apacer Panther 2666MHz DDR4 Memory (1 x 8GB)

Gigabyte A320M-S2H Motherboard

1TB Seagate FireCuda Solid State Hybrid Drive

Xilence Redwing 400W Power Supply

Any help or suggestions very much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Is that a straight swap essentially or are there other things to consider? I should add I'm thinking about adding another 8mb RAM, same again with what I have now.

It's the same socket so its going to just pop right in. THe ryzen chips do benefit drastically from higher speed ram, so that is a good option to look at upgrading, aswell as perhaps upgrading to 16gb of 3200mhz, but another 8gb stick will be a sensible upgrade

Hi I didn't see a budget so
The ryzen 5 2600x is on your cpu support list.on newegg for 219.99 usd.
The G.Skill Flare X 3200 CL14 16gb 2x8 is 204.99 good price and definitely on your qvl memory list i run it in mine.
The G.Skill trident Z 3200 CL16 16gb 2x8 is 139.99 also good ram and qvl.
The ryzen performs better with 2 sticks of ram.
But your psu is only 100w above your gtx 1050 ti requirements.
Would suggest 650w or 750w
On newegg evga 650w fully modular gold would be less then 80.00.
Good Luck

these are the cpu it support and bios version for all of them so check before getting a new one you might have to update bios http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/GA-A320M-S2H(rev._1.x).html also if you go for ram try to have a dual channel set .
By your mobo cpu support list Yes.
With the bios update.
Still recommend 2 sticks ram and psu of atleast 650w

Hi folks.

I've now purchased the Ryzen 5 2600 CPU and I'm wondering how I go about changing the bios to version F20 which I believe this CPU requires?

Can I use the @bios app to download F20 first, remove my old CPU and install the new one and away we go?

Any help appreciated or directions on a tutorial to do it.

Thanks

Gavin
