hello,

-- I've installed a Sony DRU700A DVD RW as a slave device
-- BIOS detects it as a slave --> OK
-- but as Windows 2000 is strating up and I get my desktop on the screen
he crashes and says there was something with my ntoskrnl.exe

-- I deconnected the drive and then there was no problem anymore

-- I retried several times but without succes

-- I als tried to find a solution at Sony's website, but there was
nothing to find

has anyone an idea how to correct this problem ??

thanks

Greetings --

On very rare occasions, I have encountered compatibility problems
between two devices on the same IDE channel. Moving one of them to
the other IDE channel often solved the problem.
