Crashed OS. Help me get my stuff.

I've screwed up my XP OS and can't boot. I've installed a new hard drive and
can now boot on it. I want to get my files off the old one but I get "Access
Denied" when I try to go into my folder under Documents and Settings. This
is a peer-to-peer environment so no domain control help here. Can somebody
please help me get my stuff back? I have no backups.

You need to take ownership.

And if those files are that important, you might want to consider backing
them up.
