My computer is crashing and leaving no dump files in my kernel memory roots. When it crashes the screen goes black but is still illuminated. The sound blares various loud vibrating tones resembling the music or voice i was listening to. I then restart my computer and go random amounts of time between crashes. Some times it happens twice a week a day or a month. There does not seem to be a coloration between the load and the crashing either. I can run a stress test and pass with flying colors or have multiple high end games running at once.
I recently replaced my graphics card as the old crashing left my monitor with purple specked blocks distorting the previous image. I read this as an issue with my ram on the card so i replaced the entire card with an upgrade.
Current suspicions are:
The on board sound-card (really REALLY hope that is not it since it is attached to the board and would have to be melted off).
Insufficient cooling ( I am still using air cooling. 8 copper heat sinks and 2 large fans.)
Insufficient or faulty power supply. ( I am using a 880w atm and do not beleive my load exceeds that. I am considering replacing all the power dongles as i have plenty of all kinds just to see if some home there is a messed up wire.)
