Crashing once after Startup

Hello everyone,

I upgraded my PC a few weeks back and installed the parts myself.

Specs:
new parts
i5 8600k (no oc)
Gigabyte Z370P D3-CF
16gb ddr4 2400mhz Ram

Old parts
Geforce 1060 6GB
EVGA power supply 750W
CPU fan

The PC seemingly works fine, BUT

most times when I do a fresh startup of my PC (meaning i was completely shut down) it crashes after reaching the desktop screen and loading the icons on my desktop. Then it does some error searching going to 100% with no result and after this it works fine.

If I just go to energy safe mode and return the next morning it does not crash, only when I do a fresh startup.

I dont know what the problem could be and I am not good enough fining these errors myself, sorry for that.
Google searches didnt help as the problems I found didnt sound like the one I have.

Maybe someone can help me with this and has an answer for me.

Win 10? Did you do a clean install of the OS?

Yes. I did two times now. There was no change.
At first I thought it was fixed. Then it happened again.

An intermittent problem like that is hard to pin down. If all else fails, breadboard the system outside the case. Lay the board on something insulated and connect just the CPU/cooler, PSU, one stick RAM in first memory slot, monitor to iGPU (no card), and keyboard. Start the system by momentarily shorting the two pins that the power button would connect to. See if you can get into BIOS and all is stable.

Then start adding in components one at a time and test between additions. It's going to be slow and time consuming. You may have to let the system idle for some time. If all is good until you finally connect the boot drive, then it would seem to be the drive or the OS install. Btw, I would leave the gfx card out for the entire testing. It is also a likely candidate for being the problem.

When you remove the board from the case, check that you didn't add an extra standoff that wasn't needed. sometimes that happens when boards don't use all the standoff spots in the case. Another thing to check for is that one of the metal fingers on the IO shield aren't sticking in one of the ports. On older IO shields I've had one or more that managed to work their way into a USB port for instance.

Thanks again for helping me and the quick answers.
It seems it was a windows option I had to turn off.
The option to reopen all tasks when I start up the pc was turned on.
I booted several times now with no problem.
I'll keep you posted but thank all of you again. If this wasn't the solution I'll get back to testing each and every part!
