When I try to play a video clip I get the message:
Create Overlay Failed. Please lower your screen overlay or
color depth and try again. Can anyone help me fix this?
thanks

Update your graphics card drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Nancy,
I have had this problem multiple times on my laptops, here is what I have
always done to fix it.
Display >Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot>Hardware Acceleration. Turn this to
full.
If you have directX installed, Run DxDiag from the Run command.Go to the
display Tab and Enable DirectDraw acceleration. Let me know if this works for
you. Just my 0.02

Download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card from the
manufacturer's website and check you have the latest version of DirectX
