Creating private network on existing network 2wire and linksys

Hi,

So I have att as my isp, currently using 2wire 2701hg-b gateway. I also have linksys e1550 router which I would like to use as my 2nd router(extender). I was able to disable dhcp, assign static private ip to linksys and make it as extender but I would also would like to make linksys connections seperate from my 2wire... .doable? Would it this be called double NAT ? Any suggestions on how to make linksys seperate from the 2wire so we have 2 subnets or what would be the other option?

As long as you have cabled the second router to the first just configure linksys as you would a connection to a ISP. You of course need to use a different subnet for the lan because you can't have the wan and lan on the same ip block.

Not if you are really using it as a wireless "extender" then I doubt you can run the linksys as a router and extender at the same time
