I have a Creative Sound Blaster G8 and am using the Creative app to control its settings. During testing, I noticed that the volume kept changing and when at 0% volume, I could still hear sound for a short time before it muted. The steps that I have taken include, uninstalling and reinstalling the Creative software and driver, resetting the app, disabling my onboard sound card (RealTek), and disconnecting my PC remote control (used for media playback and volume control). I also checked the Smart Volume on some of my Creative Sound Modes and it was already disabled. Still, I am noticing the volume fluctuating. In case it helps, I have the G8 connected directly to my PC using a USB-C to USB-A (3.0) since my motherboard doesn't have a USB-C port, my speakers are Logitech Z407 (volume set at full since intend to control the volume through Creative app or G8 volume knob), Logitech G432 headsets, Logitech Brio webcam, and FiFine T669 condenser microphone (connected directly to my PC through USB). All of these devices are running on Windows 10. I am not certain what the problem is. I would appreciate any input you can provide that could solve this issue.

Thanks.

are you using the latest software version ?
Creative App for Windows v1.20.5.0

try a different usb port on your system on the back panel
try a different usb-c to usb-a cable

check the G8 with usb-c on a differen tsystem
if it's there too, RMA it

Yes, I am using the latest app for Windows. I did switch out the USB cable and switched USB ports and still have the same issue. I don't have another computer to try it on. I am going to assume that there is a hardware issue with the G8. I will contact the retailer to see if I can either exchange it or get a refund.
