Today i noticed in Crucial Storage Exectuve app a new thing saying "Firmware not determined" and "Set proxy settings" "Proxy host - Proxy port" these were never there before.I tried to reinstall app, download firmware and driver from the website, run self test and its stillthere. What does this even mean ? because next to that i can see firmware revision code and serial number.

Are there problems of any other sort beyond Crucial's app reporting "Firmware not determined", etc.?

As I understand the link in Post #2 Storage Excutive is compatible with the T500 drives.

So the problem appears to be that Storage Executive is not able to find or read the drive's firmware.

Where did the drive come from? Source?

Three more things to do:

Open Windows Powershell.

Run the Get-Disk and Get-PSDrive cmdlets.

FYI:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/storage/get-disk?view=windowsserver2022-ps

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/p...ll.management/get-psdrive?view=powershell-7.4

Do the results match what you have and know about the installed T500 drive?

More importantly, with respect to firmware, is:

Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageFirmwareInformation

Reference:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/p...firmwareinformation?view=windowsserver2025-ps

Specifically the results from running Example 1 in the link.

Here are the results from my computer where "CHXXX" is a partial redaction of my computer name.

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageFirmwareInformation

Object : MSFT_PhysicalDisk (ObjectId = "{1}\\CHXXX\root/Microsoft/Windows/S...)

Powershell should already be installed on your system. Run with admin rights if possible.

The objective being to learn more about the installed drive and firmware.

I didnt notice any kind of problem besides that.I made the list of parts for the local PC store , so they got it from EU and built the PC for me.The same app worked fine for few months until recently because i always check if there is any new updates for everything i have installed. Here are SS i hope it helps.

Only one drive installed - correct?

And that drive is this drive:

Crucial T500 Gen 4 NVME M.2 SSD

= = = =

Run Get-Disk again but use

Get-Disk | Format-Table

The posted images are coming out too small and hardly readable.

What I am wondering about is why the results of

Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageFirmwareInformation

appears to be showing 2 slots in some combination.

However, the Crucial Executive screen 2/2 (at the bottom) is showing a Firmware Revision that appears to be "P8CR004".

And that matches (as near as I can read it) the firmware code from Get-PhysicalDisk.

Does the drives' serial number match what is reported by Crucial Executive?

Sort of thinking that if the firmware was changed/revised then that is noted without any reference to the original Firmware version. If that version is even available to be read by Crucial Executive.

May be a question to ask Crucial....

Its this one : https://www.crucial.com/ssd/t500/ct1000t500ssd5

Here is better quality i guess : View: https://imgur.com/a/QL7jUCc

As you can see the firmware is P8CR004 on their website as well and it matches with mine on crucial app.

Im not sure about slots,i have one SSD as you saw in disk management before.

EDIT : Get-PhysicalDisk | fl Name, serialnumber, adapterserialnumber checked the serial number and it matches the one in executive app
