I'm building a PC with 16gb ram and I found these two sets of 2 x 8gb ram:

http://www.pcsystems.ie/components/memory/crucial-16gb-pc3-12800-kit- at €145.79
and
Corsair 2 x 8gb at €170.47

Obviously it's a pretty big price difference. They both have virtually the exact same specs (from what I can see) but I'm worried that if I were to go for the crucial then I may be losing money by having to replace the ram after it breaking.

I looked around and there seems to mixed reviews, with some people saying crucial will break within a year and others saying it's one of the top memory brands.

It may be useful to add that I'm not interested in overclocking.

So is the Crucial ram just as good for the price or should I go with the more expensive option for better quality?

Solution
I would consider the Crucial kit at least equal in quality to the Corsair kit. Its specifications are also slightly better (lower CAS latency). It's simply a much better deal.
Hi

Crucial is owned by micron who make the memory chips
Corsair buys memory chips from one of the few companies still making memory chips

So I prefer crucial if you want to over clock the ram get ballistix , version

Check if preferred option is 2x 8GB or 4 x 4GB for your motherboard
And for motherboard manufacturers recommended & certified ram modules

Or save some money and get 8 not 16 unless you know you are going to use all that ram

Over the years I have seen various ram modules fail , I can only remember one which was crucial

Of the two, the Crucial are better sticks, and ensure your mobo can take 8GB sticks, as long as it does, it is far preferable to 4x4GB (less stress on the MC (memory controller) unless building on a 2011 socket mobo, then the 4x4GB would be preferable
