Crysis 2 (bug?) I need help

I am running Crysis 2 in DX11 w/ High-Res textures and MaLDo's Mod 3.0, Blackfire's Mod 2, and Shone's Quality Mod 1.9. Getting excellent playability, but there is a big problem...

Everytime I die and respawn, the enemies are POOF! Gone. Empty map. Nary an enemy to be found until I hit the next section.

I am forced to start a new game from the "replay level" section of the campaign menu, lest I just keep dying on purpose and walk through the game.

I am thinking hard-drive on my end, as I am down to 25GB on a 1TB 7200RPM HDD, and haven't defragged in a while.

But before I go to deleting a bunch of stuff and spending the night on the stupid Xbox while my rig is degragging, I thought I would pose this question to hear your thoughts and find out if it could possibly be a known bug.

Thanks.

Oh, I can see where that seems the obvious cause.

But, no. I failed to mention that those particular mods are geared to work together - more specifically, Blackfire's Mod 2 and Shone's Quality Mod are made to install into MaLDo's Mod 3.0. Now, MaLDo's Mod 4.0 (still beta) is incompatible with the other two mods, but as far as MaLDo's Mod 3.0 is concerned, it even has features that can be activated after installing the other two mods from that tight knit modding community that they have going on there.

I appreciate your answer though, thanks man.

Yep. In fact, I have done a complete re-install of everything - including the client - just in case there was a problem inside the actual game files.

I have even experimented with different versions of the mods, and either they don't look as good and work, or they look great and don't work- another reason I'm thinking HDD.

When you resinstalled the game, did you delete the folder before reinstalling? If you uninstall a game that still has content in the folder (i.e. mod files) it won't delete the folder and will keep the mode files. Which means installing the game will reinstall the game but keep the old mod files. If you launch the game (with old mod files) then you're back to Step 1.

I've noticed some bugs playing through the second difficulty setting after completing the first setting, at least one certain section was glitchy but I don't have any mods other than the official DX11/HD ones,
I'm not sure its your mods causing this, but a problem in the games code,
but I'm a new Fps gamer so not really up on the engines pro's and con's other than trying to google my issue to no avail,
I'd say live with it and walk through or restart the level when you need to :)

Hey thanks guys.

Alex, I uninstalled Crysis 2, made sure the entire Crysis 2 folder in Origin was deleted (including the mods folder), and then I went into users/name/saved games and deleted the Crysis 2 folder there, which contained profile folders, cfgs, saved games and such.

Then I clean my registry.

Still...No avail.

Pretty much got everything to do with Crysis 2 off my machine.

I keep the mod applications in an entirely different location to relaunch and reinstall as fresh as the first time.

Moto, what kind of bugs/glitches are you experiencing? I may just have to run it chapter to chapter. Forget loading a game between chapters - I will just have to commit to doing a whole chapter at a time, and hope I don't die lest I be forced to start over.

The trouble is, I play hard mode and superhuman mode exclusively. I accidentally die at times. It's no fun being too careful.

Mine is when I meet the marines and have to get to the dropzone, I can snipe from the boat or just walk to the end, the marines chat is normal 'get to the bus, up on the tracks' etc, but they don't move from where the bus is, theres shooting etc at the top end where they should be, but no aliens and can't achieve the objective, I just loaded up on ammo and walked to the next section though

I haven't experienced this when I played. This goes without saying but I'll say it anyways. Did you download and apply the game patch (not the HD or the DX11, but the actual game patch)? Crysis doesn't update on it's own (say using Origin). You have to manually download and install the latest patch. Hope this fixes it.

Otherwise, I'd see if other Crytekees have experienced this issue. You might find some solution on Crytek/EA's forum as I have no solution. Like you said, it looks like it's a problem with the code.

Had the same problem with 1.9, re-installed 1.7 and been good since.
