[citation][nom]hacksquad[/nom]Some ppl look down the console by comparing a multi platform game, i guess they never seen console exclusives such as gears of war, uncharted 2, god of war 3, heavy rain, gran turismo 5, killzone 3 and so on. doesn't matter you have 10 cpus with 5 graphic cards, the game doesn't like 10 times better. if you are really a gamer you wouldn't mind playing on any platform even on sega genesis, coz its a game still, unless you are graphic whore, not really a real gamer![/citation]
Thank you. Exactly what I was thinking. Gamers play games regardless of platform or the visuals. I've been building computers for about 15 years now and am a gamer on all platforms. I started playing games in the 80's at the arcade when everybody else had a Nintendo. I realized something. When I first got my NES, I wasn't sitting there comparing Mario to Shinobi (Arcade). They were both fantastic games with their own unique gameplay. After that, I got a Genesis. After that, I got a computer and Wolf3d, after which I got Doom. I didn't draw any comparisons between the three - Nintendo, Genesis, Computer. Three different platforms do three different kinds of games uniquely. I have a 4870x2 right now, a little dated but still a great card. I'm not worried about the visuals as I am frames per second. If a game doesn't run 60+ on my comp (many of them), I simply turn the resolution or AA or any other option down to compensate. The gameplay is what matters most and if we're talking about an FPS, everybody should know that, unless you're buying the game for the visuals, which in that case you're not a real gamer. If you wanna max out your graphics cards, get 3dMark Vantage or just play older games in software mode lol.
[citation][nom]sabot00[/nom]You realize that we don't need $600 graphics cards to beat your ass silly, as it has already been said, a $90 card (5750) beats the *** out of consoles, so a $400 PC (that's with a display, something consoles don't have) already creams you.And in fact, with a PC, you don't even need to have a TV, so basically I just saved $600 on TV, which I used to buy an AK-47 and pop one in yo diaper-wearing, disney-going cap.[/citation]
This is a bad attitude. I don't understand why PC only gamers hold this strange view. Sure, there are instances when I've gotten pissed at stupid console ports (Invisible War) but you can't get mad at console gamers for it. You must blame the developer. It is their choice. You can argue that they don't have a choice if they wish to stay in business, but many indie companies are releasing games now on Steam, 360 arcade and PS Network that are very good and are selling very well. Its people like the above that developers have to try and avoid making games for.
