Hi people, I have just bough CRYSIS WARHEAD.

I am having a major issue with it, in all the levels I will get sound crackling/stuttering which makes my FPS drop to around 10. Once I get the sound prob It wont go away. I have tried reinstalling drivers etc. I have the latest updates and drivers for everything

My specs:

q6600
abit ix38
9800 x2
4gb corsair XM2
750w corsair psu

All temps are good, my system is not overclocked.

Please help .

Thanks

I would do a full defrag and cleanup of the PC to be sure it isn't that. Run CCleaner and the registry option. Do any other applications have this issue or just Warhead?

ok i cant believe you people are so dum the crackling sound is because you are wearing a head set the magnet is not proper take out the headset and put a sterio the sound will become proper and the speed is because your pc is not built for gaming its for multiporpose so it should be running a lot of programs for just one you can delete some useless programs from task manager and the graphics card your using is for designing and animation not gaming
you people are soooo :pt1cable: and im :sol:

[*** ing, self-absorbed idiot, aint ya?

I have the same problem, funny thing is, I USED TO GET THIS GAME WORKING ON ULTRA HIGH.
I have an onboard soundcard as well, and I updated it just now, guess what, it still cracks.

And btw, headphones have nothing to do with it idiot. I have the problem with my speakers AND headphones.

Go back welding some stuff together, it's probably the only thing you and your IQ are good for.

It seems quite a few people have problems w/Warhead sound and Vista 64. Me too! All my other games have perfect 5.1 sound (including Crysis, FarCry 2 etc), and I have a nice 5.1 sound working in the normal Vista environment. BUT - in Warhead I only have Music, no sound effects at all. Wierd...

I do have on-board sound, but I don't see why that should be an issue just with Warhead?

Any ideas?

Ok - solved it.

1. Ran the game in DX9 (32bit) mode, set desired graphics & sound. Saved game
2. Ran the game in DX10 (32bit) mode. Saved game
3. Ran the game in DX10 (64bit). Voila - all OK, sound and graphics perfect

Running the DX10 64bit version after install caused graphics to be locked to 1024x760 + no sound effects, only music. Furthermore, changing the graphics resolution caused mouse pointer to be offset from mouse location + more bizarre effects.

Anyway - doing steps 1-2-3 kicked it in the side and fixed it.

Ciao!
