CUBX+celery voltage/OC problem

My CUBX and celery 566 crashes at any voltage setting higher than 1.55 volts...I need 1.65 or 1.7 to be stable at 850 probably (at 1.55 and 850, it will run Unreal Tournament, or any intensive games for about 2 hours then hang). I have heard other people have the same problem with the CUBX/celery. Funny thing is, if i hold down the left mouse button while on the desktop, or if I'm running any program and the cpu is working, I can hear my delta blacklabel cpu fan gain about 500 rpm. It slows down as soon as the cpu is idle (no, i dont have the "smart fan" ASUS probe feature turned on). And the funny thing is, as long as the cpu is cranking, windows won't hang at 1.6 volts, but as soon as the cpu goes idle after boot, it hangs (I can hold down the left mouse button on the desktop and it wont hang..until i let up). So i guess my question is, is there a beta bios or something that is gonna fix this? or is ASUS going to let me down for the first time?

hmm, I solved it by removing the win98 pnp bios and installing the "failsafe" one
lets me run higher than 1.55 volts now, testing stability at 850 and 1.6v currently
