Hi, Really hope someone can help. I am building a computer for editing. I will be using after effects which I hear works much better to render video and 3d stuff with CUDA technology. I think it works with CPU for rendering or something. The thing I don't understand is. Why is the GTX 580
More expensive than GTX 760. They both seem to have this CUDA technology. What are you paying for in the £200 price difference? Any recommendations on the subject would be amazing. Thanks

Hay thanks very much man. Think you've saved me some money there and some time picking ram and things. lol.

The only thing is Im a little worried about using water cooling as I've never done it before. Could I use a full size board and fit a CPU Fan in there. Ill get high quality side fans for it aswell I'm thinking.
Unless your sure water cooling is the way to go. Ive hearedd mixed reviews and I suppose with the six core I won't need to over clock like on the 4770.

Thanks again for all the help mate. Ill have to post the pics and stats when its finished. :)

The aio coolers ( all in one ) are good these days the h105 is excellent and they dont leak, just install and you are good to go , no filling with water or worrying
i can provide you a link to videos of most of the components if that will help
i would not use the fractal case with these components the radiator wont fit and airflow is poor for your cards aswell

Ok sure, That sounds doable. I suppose if I'm putting the effort it its worth going the whole way. Does it involve keeping control of the cpu temp yourself or does it do that all automatically too? Yeah videos would be good. Ive mainly been learning from youtube.

I really like those low profile cases. Ill keep looking to see if i can find one that fits that radio in it.
Thanks again

you can hook up the fans on the 105 to the to the pwm header on the motherboard , but i personally would hook them up to a molex with either a voltage reducer to make them slower and quieter eg 7v or at 12v direct they are not that noisy , and the pump direct to 12v molex you want pump at constant speed

thought that would be a better solution for you , if you go with ivy bridge e, make sure the guys you get your mobo off update it witth the latest bios to accept ivy bridge e , bios must be updated to use it , they will have to update it with an older sandybridge cpu first , if you put the ivy bridge cpu direct into your mobo without bios update it will not work and you wont be able to update the bios
They should do this for you no probs but you must ask them

hay man, thats a great tip about the mobo cheers. Thinking I may give up on the HTPC cases, I was even going through in my mind what it would take to cut a hole out on the top panel to fit the h105 in that way but Its too much to mess up so I'm thinking a case like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuzNUoni0XU may be pretty good. Looks like it will fit most things in any case, well not any case.lol. Do you think I should put a full ATX in it? That way I can add more graphics later if needs be. Looks like its gunna be a monster tho. Thanks for the water cooling nudge, performance looks way worth it so thanks for that. Um, perhaps you could recommend a nice full ATX mobo that will work, are there more new and specific ones where the bios will be updated already? Ill ask them to update it in any case. cheers again

So if I'm getting the amazing CUP do I still need the 580 GPU? Will they work together? If it just used the graphics card because of Cuda for rendering, will i be using the 6 cores? Or does it use both somehow and double up my power so to speak

Even with the best CPU if you have a program that can take advantage of CUDA you will see at least half the time rendering on the GPU. You still would like a good CPU for programs and features that cannot be offloaded onto the GPU.

Ok, thanks for that then ill get both if it helps. Its a choice between the noise reduction or the window, or drilling a htpc. lol I hear the 580 can be loud so the first case may be good. Im gunna look at mother boards now. Thanks again for suggestions.

Thanks mate, you've been more than helpful. You saved me money and now ill be getting a better CPU. Im still a little stuck as far as Mobos but I've made a new thread on the motherboard forum so that I don't keep asking you. lol . But check the thread out here if ur interested. Think i agree with you about the x79. They look awesome but not sure what features I need. Cheers again for recommendation. Take care mate
