Question Custom High Spec PC - Graphics issues. (Help)

Hi all, I have been using my desktop PC (Custom Built) for a couple of years now, the issue i am getting is a constant flashing on my desktop icons, also the sound of a USB device being added / removed constantly and the other day an error on booting up saying overclosking failed - I reset the bios and all seems good again..

I have updated the graphics card and its still cauing issues, im happy to upload a custom spec sheet of my pc. (If i knew how to)

you just make a list of your components.
my signature is an example of in depth specs needed for troubleshooting.

i've seen issues like what you describe before being cause by a malfunctioning display.
try connecting to a different display; another monitor, HDMI TV, etc and see if the issue continues.

Yea and thanks, I did think that, it is five years old, I dont have another although they do not cost much, (time for e bigger screen haha). im just wonderinghow that would affect the refresh of my desktop images and icons?

you can place icons wherever you want on the screen and ctrl+mouse wheel scrolling will allow making them smaller or larger.

I know what icons are for goodness sakes, I just dont know how if the display was going how that would affect the icons only ?

i don't understand what you mean.
what are you concerned about happening to your icons?
the only difference would be the size ratio if using a different resolution. and then that would corrected by re-sizing them.
