I was thinking of getting 2 1080ti's and overclocking them...CHOICES are ASUS POSIEDON, MSI SEAHAK EK X, EVGA FTW3 (I HOPE THEY COME OUT WITH A EK WATERBLOCK OPTION CAUSE I LOVE THE DUAL BIOS OPTION FOR OVERCLOCKING) I want to water cool my whole system(mobo and all) for the first time(see rig in sig). I am a newbie in this area and want to incorporate water cooling into my hobby of computers... I have a HAF X. ASUS MAXIMUS VII FORMULA, 4790K @4.4 everyday and 4.8 for gaming only..... I have 2 780ti classifieds now that I am replacing...I was hoping that an EK X360 kit mounted inside with one additional 140mm radiator w/ an EK-vardar fan,or led phantec( I have two red led phantek fans140mm) 140mm fan mounted externally would be enough....140mm rad would have two be externally mounted for space or can be mounted inside the case near the large 230mm led cooler master fan that came with the case, or I can mount the 360mm rad in pull configuration making room for 140mm rad to be mounted inside due to the fans being mounted on top for the 360mm rad..... what to do???

500mm of rad space should be enough and will fit in my case as 360mm + 140mm.

I don't know if I need the extreme EK kit but it has good reviews..i think 2m of tubing is not enough though!!

https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-ce-140-single $70 140mm rad

TOTAL =========$487.00

my budget for water cooling is $500 .......ANY SUGESTIONS !!!!!!!
IS 500MM ENOUGH?......

or sould I just water cool the 1080ti's and leave my NOCTUA DH-15 , which is doing a great job, cooling cpu(temps never above 70c under full load), because I believe ther is pleanty of room for a 360mm rad (in pull configuration)between the cpu cooler and top of HAF X case......

1.. HOW DID WE DO!!!!
2. DO YOU LIKE IT????
3. WILL INSTALLATION BE HARD??
4. WILL MY SHIT MAKE PEOPLE HATE ON ME?

I feel like i a doing my first build all over again!!!!!

This is great... should i install the cooling system along with gpus or should I install the cooling system first / and purchase the gpus later. The gpus that I want are not released yet but I'm anxious to build the cooling system . Should I build the cooling system mod the case and then drain it when I buy the gpus and then refill it when I install the GPUS ,or is that just a total waste of time and too much work or i should wait and do it all at one shot gpus and cooling system together.

I would get the system up and running with the new VGAs. Do a boot check with the stock cooler or whatever you have now.
Then do a complete shutdown and install the loop WITHOUT COOLANT.
After everything is fitted and all, fill the loop with DISTILLED WATER and do a leak check. Put any substance that attracts water easily (toilet paper, paper towel) around the entire loop. Then make sure its connected to any old power supply you have near you and run it. I usually run mine for about 2 hours while I take a nap or something but any time above 30 mins should be safe.
After thats finished, drain the water (either with a drain pipe fitting or the classic Y splitter technique) and fill it up with coolant.

thankyou again....

I changed my mind about the external rad. I can go thick there so an EK XE360

https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-POSEIDON-GTX1080TI-P11G-GAMING/

ME LIKEY THE MSI

WARNING: THOSE PLUGS AND THE Y SPLITTER WON'T WORK
THEY HAVE TO BE 3/8 AND NOT 1/4 (you will have to find new tubes and fittings if you go 1/4)

I haven't been able to find a 360mm version of that quick-disconnect. Make sure the size fits your rads
Note: The MSI has a Plexi Glass waterblock. You will be able to see the coolant on top (not anything bad, just thought you might want to know)

This bracket utilizes and one of the three 120mm sections of the rad and is strong enough to support 480mm(CHECK OUT THE DIAGRAM) cool huh. and I have seen pics with it on the haf X
file:///C:/Users/cornd/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/INetCache/IE/9UJKSW99/manual_bkt-hx001_100

here it is on a HAF x 480mm rad(2 examples, also a good read in that forum)

http://koolance.com/radiator-mounting-bracket-with-quick-release

open the manual file IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!for 120 240 360 and 480mm

The Koolance BKT-HX001 is an adjustable heat exchanger mounting bracket with quick-release feature. Heavy steel construction supports heavier radiators (such as 4-fan sizes) with minimal movement. BKT-HX001 is designed for 120mm fan radiator spacing, with holes to mount to a 120mm fan grill on the computer chassis side.

A quick-release bar allows instant removal and reattachment of the radiator and bracket without tools. Thumb nuts provide spacing of 51mm/2in (fully contracted) to 101mm/4in (fully expanded) from the chassis. Mounting hardware is included.
