[SOLVED] Cyberpunk _Game gets limited around 10 fps

So after the cd project logo the fps suddenly dives down from 112 to 10 and just stays there :/
My specs are good enough . and windows is 10 LTSC 1809 . anyone has seen anything like this before ? I checked Riva thunder settings, Nvidia settings , game's graphic settings and reinstalled drivers in safe mode and that didn't help.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI
CPU : I7 6700K 4GHZ
RAM : 16 GB (Dual Channel)
GPU : ASUS DUAL GTX 1660 Super
Game installed on SSD

I'm having the same exact issue you're having. GPU usage averages 5% usage. CPU usage averages 36% usage @ 2.88 GHz.

I downloaded the windows 10 October update, clean reinstall of the newest nvidia drivers via their website, reinstalled the game twice, and none of that changed anything.

I tested Destroy All Humans and Red Dead Redemption 2 after the clean nvidia drivers install and they actually had improved performance.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: ASRock B365M-IBR.
GPU: Ausus GTX 1660 SUPER
CPU: i7-9700F
RAM: 16 GB
Installed on SSD

Intel i7-10700K
32GB ram
game running on Samsung SSD 970 m2 drive (have also tried on a Samsung SSD 850 EVO)
XFX RX 5600 XT THICC II PRO (6GB)

CD Projekt logo shows at ~100FPS
immediate drop to ~5FPS
Stays at ~5fps in menus and in game.
Have tried all preset graphics levels, and low with as much disabled as possible and seen no change.
have tried all resolutions up to 1080P, not improvement. Have V-sync, changing refresh rate.

system not stressed, cpu stays around 40%, GPU reported as <10% utilization by MSI Afterburner, CPUID and Taskmanager.

I've seen many people on the internet with this same issue we're having. You think it could be a bug with the game and needs to be fixed with a patch?

I fixed mine with installing a 20H2 Pro version of win 10 . but i gotta tell you this game needs lotta optimization .i'm planning to play it after like 2 weeks atleast . just like red dead

Good to hear! Glad it's working for you. I downloaded that windows update last night hoping that would work and it didn't. A new patch just released for the game, I'm hoping that works for me.

It gets limited to zero frames per second when it won’t even start on the Xbox one. I don’t see what the hype is all about. It is absolutely full of bugs and basically unplayable at this point

I told my son he wasted his money and should’ve waited until the price dropped to $20 which is where it’s headed because it’s a big pile of crap

The 1.04 patch didn't change anything for me. Did another clean reinstall of the nvidia gpu drives. rolled back the 202H windows 10 update and reinstalled it. That didn't work either. I feel like my only other option at this point is to do a clean install of windows 10. This is so frustrating lol.

Yea at this point I will give it a couple weeks. Fresh install of windows doesn't work. 1.04 doesn't work.

Version 1809 Windows 10 is almost 2 years old. Using that old version could be your issue. You have to upgrade at some point. Can't keep running old Windows 10 version and expect new stuff that requires you having those new version to run perfectly.

I'm talking to the OP. Not everyone with issues with this game. Not everyone will have the same issue. Low FPS is not fixable using the same solution for everyone that has low FPS.

In OP's case. Windows 10 should be updated before continuing the troubleshooting.

Have tried with 20H2, no change. Not going to do a clean install just for this. Will wait and see if it gets resolved by devs. Right now I can play at 15fps on my 3 year old laptop instead. Ha!

updating windows does not work yea you need to do a clean install . I think they gonna address this issue in next patch for sure considering how many ppl are facing it.

So doing a clean install worked for you? I'm new to PC and never done before. Should I just transter all of my games on a 2TB my external hardrive then transter them back to my SSD after doing the clean install? I really want to play this game more than 10 FPS and I dont really want to play it on my base PS4 lol.

So doing a clean install worked for you? I'm new to PC and never done before. Should I just transter all of my games on a 2TB my external hardrive then transter them back to my SSD after doing the clean install? I really want to play this game more than 10 FPS and I dont really want to play it on my base PS4 lol.

It did worked for me yea . version 20H2 Build19042.631
And yea you can transfer modern games without any issue . but use save game manager software to backup all your saves.

What's your specs ? If you had the same issue it would be totally fixed with a clean install . and were you stuck at 10 frames or were you just experiencing low fps like 12 18 it might be your amd cpu or anything else .

Something drastically wrong here, I expected 40fps with a gen 1 ryzen at least.

Resolution and graphics settings make no difference whatsoever,tried down to 720p and upto 4k.
Tried with the latest patch and without, tried the amd smt patch, nothing makes the slightest difference - totally unplayable

Edit - just forced update to 19042.835 20H2

Totally removed amd drivers with ddu then reinstalled latest ones.

Now have a solid 60fps lock at 1080p high settings, just cancelled my GOG refund request.
