Question Cyberpunk/Assassins Creed Valhalla crash computer

So, I am thinking I may have a faulty CPU/MOBO maybe? maybe GPU?

assassins creed valhalla crashes computer (restarts, no errors etc) right after first cut scene
now cyberpunk 2077 crashes on boot

both of these games regardless of fresh windows install/graphics driver/c++ redistributable etc. crash game/computer.

event log has this around the time of the crash for assassins creed:

Event 642, ESENT (x2)
Event 18, WHEA-Logger
Event 1101, EventLog
Event 41, Kernel-Power
Event 6008, EventLog


cant find anything for cyberpunk 2077 (it doesnt crash computer, just says "woah! cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined.") on the error repor thing from GOG.

UNTIL

i run it in windows 8 compatability mode then it does crash my computer (restarts just like ACV)

system:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus
g.skill tridentz rgb series 32gb (4 x 8gb) - tried swapping sticks out/rotating
Corsair RMX Series (2018), RM650x - tried another power supply. same thing.
EVGA GeForce RTX 2070
970 EVO m.2 NVMe 1tb (OS installed here)

side note: other games such as world of warcraft, eve online, league of legends this isnt an issue
