d: drive slow

My c: drive; (8gb 5400 rpm) works great. The d: drive (20 gb 7200 rpm 16.5 gb to spare) was working very fast until just recently. The d:drive is exclusive for audio production. Now it is very slow. Performed Scandisk and Defrag, checked for viruses no change. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem or tests I can perform to resolve this problem?

Are you running Windows? In my experience, if something suddenly goes wrong, with no good expaination, it's probably Windows' fault. Maybe that's just my pent up animosity toward Microsoft speaking though :)

Yes, I am running windows and I can relate to what you are saying. Wouldn't be the first time Windows has caused me problems but still not sure on how to remedy the situation.
