[SOLVED] Daily fps change

How is it possible that fps can change so much in a day without any updates etc.

For example in Forza horizon 4 first i got around 80-90 fps and now 60-70

And in black ops 4 first 120-130 and now 100-110

What can cause this problem?

Either some drivers got updated in the background or if CPU or GPU is over clocked some settings may have reverted. Possibility is that something is blocking the airflow and you dint notice it.

Thanks ill check the drivers. Nothing is over clocked so that cant be it.

Maybe a stupid thought but can outside temperature affect fps? Its very warm compared with a week ago

Temperature is taken into consideration only if components were previously at thermal threshold and due to increase in outside temperature they are thermal throttling.
You can monitor your temps using MSI Afterburner. Below is the link for MSI Afterburner.

GPU 74 at 100%
CPU around 70 at 30% think this is holding me back?
SSD 70 is this too warm?

Can you list the configuration of your PC. List CPU, RAM, GPU, Motherboard and PSU. If it is prebuilt then list CPU, RAM and GPU also include brand and model.

Configuration is fine. I had faced problems with MSI(Intel) boards of previous generations but that is probably not the issue here. CPU may be bottle-necking.

Download Cinebench and test the CPU by running the test. See how high the temps go.

When i run the CPU test its between 67 and 70

If that is for 1440p then GPU and CPU usage is fine. But fps should be around 75-80 at max setting.

SSD 70°C? Thats first thing what makes me confused. Never saw too hot SSD... Maybe any program can control your performance due temperatures? You are close to max so it makes sence, doesnt it?

Yes 70C is hot but not too hot for SSD. Under-load it is normal for SSD to be that hot under load(not at idle). Anything above 70C is not good.

Yes its on 1440p max settings. I played more today and fps where between 60 and 90. Not very stable. Was smooth because of gsync but it needs to be more stable i think?

Everything looks fine CPU, GPU and SSD temps are fine. GPU and CPU usage is normal for that game at 1440p. Well some scenes are graphic intensive and possibly dips to 60fps. But if there is regular fluctuation in fps throughout the gameplay then that is not normal. By any chance did the game receive any update or patch.

Ok reinstalled the GPU drivers and fps are back to normal in black ops 4. Still low fps in Forza. Yes maybe there was a update or patch for it. Ill check it later.

I really appreciate your help and i think i found the problem. I think GeForce experience messed up the settings. Im new to pc gaming so its al new for me. The fps are what they were.

On ultra i get around 100fps. You can also set some settings higher to extreme. When i do that i get 60-70 fps. This is normal right?

Its good to know that my temps and usage is good. Thats what me concerned the most.

That's why I mentioned software. It's normal and possible.
