So many Questions

Am I better with a Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge v the i7 950. What will I need to change.

I want something that will last. My current PC is a P4 2.66 APG system, its lasted me 8 years.

Additional Comments: Im thinking in 12months upgrade with a SSD & another video card for crossfire.

 
+1 for the 2600K, especially seeing how you don't upgrade all that often. That's a great deal on that Antec 300 you have, but it won't work for what you have in mind (dual vid cards), especially if you are thinking of adding an after market h/s. That's a great single card case but it's cramped, and with dual vid cards you would be ripping out h/d bays and your side fan would have to go also. Look at something larger. Cooler Master, Antec, etc.. make some great and very large mid tower cases. CM690 comes to mind.

This mobo down below would suite your needs seeing how it runs two vid cards at 8x & 8x. Anything less than that will bottle neck a dual vid card set up. The AsRock is just an example...Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI all make decent 1155 P67 boards that run dual cards at 8x & 8x.

Thx, but Im not really sure its that simple.

As far as i know a P55 motherboard isn't compatible with the 2600k

The 2600k processor is only compatible with the new LGA 1155 motherboards "P67's"

I maybe wrong?
