So I've been wanting to do a m-itx build for a while when I came across Dan's case. If you guys could check out the specs below and tear them apart that would actually be helpful
About Me
I'm doing my Masters in Architecture so the main programs that I use will be Autocad, Archicad, Sketchup, Vray, Artlantis, Photoshop etc etc... basically 3d modelling and rendering. Minor gaming but its not a priority.
The reason for such a small build is that I will have a second monitor in uni, that way I can transport the case daily without needing to get a laptop. (Already own an MSI GS60 but it is starting to show its age as projects become CPU and GPU intensive)
Budget: Up to £3,000
The budget was set off against the cost of getting a new laptop that could handle my requirements, specifically the Aorus x7 DT v6
Components:
CPU: i7 6700K - (Or Kaby Lake Equivalent when released)
CPU Cooler: Still researching due to height restrictions with case
MotherBoard: Asus Z170I PRO GAMING - (Or Z270 Equivalent when released)
Ram: 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000
Storage: 750GB SSD Crucial MX3000
GPU: GTX 1080 Ti - (Release should be in January 2017)
PSU: Silverstone SFX 500W
OS: Windows 10
Monitor: LG 27UD88-W, 4K - (this could change depending on what is released at CES 2017
Notes: I know that this will be an expensive system, so I want to get it right. Once the case is secured and CES is over, ill start making the other purchases and hopefully start a build log. Thank you guys for any insights or advice in advance!
