Hi guys, just after some advice. Probably a silly question for most.

I sold my PC but kept both my SSD and HDD. The OS is installed on the SSD. I wish to retrieve data from both.

Question : can I simply plug both into a friends PC and it'll work? Does he need to remove his storage device (as my ssd has windows)? Is there another easy/cheap way?

I have no plans on buying another PC for a long time.

Thank you.

If your friend can add your drives to his own system without removing his own, it might be worth a shot. I would not try to remove his and install yours as the only ones on the system, as yours will not have the required drivers for everything to work smoothly.

So we could plug all 3 storage devices in (2 of mine, and his) and boot his PC from his hdd without my ssd causing issues? My ssd acting like a spare storage so we can copy data over to a USB?
