Good day,
I need to recover data from an an internal hard drive , which was formatted by a new Windows 10 installation. Aommei Backup has a good reputation,. Has anyone perhaps a different recommendation?

Are you looking to recover data that existed BEFORE the format? If you are talking about an SSD then you are completely out of luck as any data that existed no longer existed once the drive was formatted.

Same problem exists. The format overwrites existing data, rendering it unrecoverable. And, if you've written anything to this drive you simply compound the problem. This is where you pull out your latest backup and restore the data.
